Carnegie Mellon Math Jam

by DPatrick, Oct 19, 2010, 4:29 PM

Tonight at 7:30 PM ET (4:30 PM PT), we will host a free Math Jam in which three Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) faculty members, including US IMO Deputy Team Leader Po-Shen Loh, will join CMU Assistant Director of Admissions Andrew McMillen and student Jimmy Koppel to discuss opportunities, academics, life, and admissions at Carnegie Mellon.

On a personal note, I am a proud CMU alumnus (Math / Computer Science double-major, class of '92), and I can unequivocally recommend CMU. The Computer Science program is second to none in quality, and the Mathematical Studies program at CMU is where I first learned how to be a mathematician. Plus, the marching band wears kilts.

The Math Jam is FREE. You can learn more about our Math Jams here. To attend, log in to AoPS about 5 minutes before the Math Jam, then click the Classroom bar that will be near the top of the site at that time.

You can also read the transcripts from our MIT and Stanford Math Jams.
