For those of you who are curious about what "group theory" is all about, and want to hear about why we're offering a class in it this fall, we are hosting a group theory Math Jam on Thursday, August 26, at 7:30 PM ET (4:30 PM PT). We'll spend about an hour doing some cool math, and then talk about the course. The course and the Math Jam are being taught by Jeremy Copeland, who taught at MIT after completing his PhD at the University of Chicago.
