Reel Math

by rrusczyk, Nov 12, 2011, 11:45 PM

Reel Math is the new video-creation contest from MATHCOUNTS. Top teams receive a free trip to Nationals in Orlando. Public voting starts Tuesday. Public voting is part of the evaluation of the videos, so obviously students who get their videos in early will have an advantage! That said, if you don't have your video finished by Tuesday, you can still enter. The voting runs until February 1st of next year, so there's still plenty of time to finish your video and rally your voting forces.

I love this outreach idea, in which more people find out about AoPS sooner.

However, once again, there are a LOT of people who want certain things (Olympiad Volume 3, Intermediate/Olympiad Geo book to pair with an awesome course called Olympiad Geometry, Intermediate NT book) and we feel I guess a bit neglected.

The Prealgebra book and Beast Academy things started a few years after this group of people started math competitions, so we never got their benefits, but we have seen AoPS' intentions diverted elsewhere.

Of course, AoPS is still the most awesome website ever, but can we please have that Intermediate/Olympiad geometry book? :) Please?
