MathWOOT (Math Worldwide Online Olympiad Training)

Designed for math students from around the world to master the problem solving skills to qualify and compete in national and international high school math Olympiads.

Competition focus:

AIME

USA(J)MO

IMO

Example Problem: Let n be a positive integer. Define a sequence by setting a_1 = n and, for each k > 1 , letting a_k be the unique integer in the range 0 ≤ a_k ≤ k - 1 for which a_1 + a_2 + ... + a_k is divisible by k . For instance, when n = 9 the obtained sequence is 9, 1, 2, 0, 3, 3, 3, ... . Prove that for any n the sequence a_1, a_2, a_3, ... eventually becomes constant.

MathWOOT Testimonials

Since 2005, students preparing for the major high school Olympiads for math and science have chosen AoPS Online's WOOT programs.

Altogether, my 6-point increase in AIME score, my first USAMO qualification, and my ability to solve two problems on the USAMO did not happen magically: WOOT provided a structured means to learn Olympiad-level problem-solving techniques and, of course, a source of Olympiad problems.

I managed to win a bronze medal at the IMO and winning a bronze medal at age 14 is a feat that no other participant from Sri Lanka has managed to achieve during 19 participations from our country. I solely credit this achievement to WOOT; no other training helped me to come this far. Without WOOT, I would have found it difficult to even make it to the IMO team.

My son has been enrolled in AoPS classes since he was 10 years old. He took the introductory courses and AMC10 series for the first year and got 138 for AMC10 at the end of the year. Later he took all the intermediate classes and got both a perfect score for AMC8 and AMC10. He is 13 this year. Thanks to WOOT, he became a USAJMO winner with a perfect score.

I definitely got a lot out of WOOT; I doubt I would have scored 9 on the AIME or gotten very much on the USAMO without WOOT.
