I believe discussion is allowed after yesterday at midnight, correct?
If so, I will put tentative answers on this thread.
By the way, does anyone know the answer to Geometry Problem 5? I was wondering if I got that one right
Also, if you put answers, please put it in a hide tag

Residential Ross or SUMaC Online?
ericbowenli   5
N 29 minutes ago by ericbowenli
I was accepted to the SUMaC Online program 1 and I need to finalize my enrollment by 4/18. I heard that Ross decisions will be released around ~4/15 and Mathcamp on 4/17. I have a high confidence in these two as I spent more time and work in these two than SUMaC. So which one would be my best choice if admitted into all three?

Hello.
i finished intro to geo textbook and class a few months ago, I was wondering what geo to do next. I took a quick look at egmo, and i figured i should probably do more before starting it. Does anyone have any resources they have that could help with int geo?
Thanks!

Alice the architect and Bob the builder play a game. First, Alice chooses two points $P$ and $Q$ in the plane and a subset $\mathcal{S}$ of the plane, which are announced to Bob. Next, Bob marks infinitely many points in the plane, designating each a city. He may not place two cities within distance at most one unit of each other, and no three cities he places may be collinear. Finally, roads are constructed between the cities as follows: for each pair $A,\,B$ of cities, they are connected with a road along the line segment $AB$ if and only if the following condition holds:
For every city $C$ distinct from $A$ and $B$, there exists $R\in\mathcal{S}$ such
that $\triangle PQR$ is directly similar to either $\triangle ABC$ or $\triangle BAC$.
Alice wins the game if (i) the resulting roads allow for travel between any pair of cities via a finite sequence of roads and (ii) no two roads cross. Otherwise, Bob wins. Determine, with proof, which player has a winning strategy.

Note: $\triangle UVW$ is directly similar to $\triangle XYZ$ if there exists a sequence of rotations, translations, and dilations sending $U$ to $X$, $V$ to $Y$, and $W$ to $Z$.

im in 7th grade and took the AMC 10 A/B with absouletely nauseating score, which i will not reveal. I wasnt even close to AIME frankly. My goals are the following:
7th grade: AMC 8 - DHR
8th grade:AIME qual, AMC 8 Perfect
9th grade: AMC 10 DHR maybe?, AIME 7+
10th grade: USAJMO, AIME 12+, AMC 10 DHR
11th grade: USAMO, AIME 12+, AMC 12 DHR
12th grade: USAMO, AIME great score, AMC 12 perfect or close?
These are the goals that i want to achieve. I will do literally anything to achieve them. Can someone please give me a good tip so i can follow it for the next 5 years of my life to become a 3 time USAMO qual and a 5 time AIME qual, and have an perfect AMC 8 under my belt?

if you haven't already I would recommend starting with the intro aops books then do intermediate algebra and then do aops precalc(precalc for trig and complex numbers). Maybe you dont need to go all the way to precalc but once you have a good grasp on the concepts you can start mocking some practice tests to see where you're at. From there you just have to keep doing problems. (idk if im qualified to give you good advice but if it helps I got a 129 on the recent 10b)

probably >1 hr each, but if you really want to get good, probably as much as you can
if school is too busy, maybe you dont have to do math on weekdays

proabably ~4 to 5 hours on weekends, but if you get tired of working, take a break and do something else
again, it kinda depends on your schedule

since ur in 7th grade right now, you still have plenty of time

I’m in 6th grade, I got around a ~70 last AMC10 and I’ve been working on the Intro to C&P and Intro to Alg books (alg I’m on b), do you think I will be able to get around at least around a 100 next AMC10 if I keep practicing and stuff? :)

When I was preparing in the summer, I did one (aops) mock every other day, (or sometimes every day or even twice a day) and I reviewed the tests after.

I took a spreadsheet of my sillies and found ideas that kept coming up again and again, and I also reviewed and brushed up on my theory.

Doing the intro series definitely gives you a nice baseline, but you may want to consider taking the intermediate series as well, as that's going to fully solidify your knowledge. Volume 1/2 are also good for reviewing and brushing up.

I do recommend taking AOPS mocks, as those tests typically train your knowledge at a higher level, and require more problem solving.

the goals might be kind of hard to set seeing as maa has been releasing some really weird difficulty tests recently (compare 2023 to 2025 aime)
maybe theyĺl become hard again
or maybe theyĺl get even easier
