The daily problem!

Every day, I will try to post a new problem for you all to solve! If you want to post a daily problem, you can! :)

Please hide solutions and answers, hints are fine though! :)

The first problem is:
Alice flips a fair coin until she gets 2 heads in a row, or a tail and then a head. What is the probability that she stopped after 2 heads in a row? Express your answer as a common fraction.
Facts About 2025!
Existing_Human1   239
N 2 hours ago by Soupboy0
Hello AOPS,

As we enter the New Year, the most exciting part is figuring out the mathematical connections to the number we have now temporally entered

Here are some facts about 2025:
$$2025 = 45^2 = (20+25)(20+25)$$$$2025 = 1^3 + 2^3 +3^3 + 4^3 +5^3 +6^3 + 7^3 +8^3 +9^3 = (1+2+3+4+5+6+7+8+9)^2 = {10 \choose 2}^2$$
If anyone has any more facts about 2025, enlighted the world with a new appreciation for the year

(I got some of the facts from this video)

CT had a top four of 39, 36, 34, 33, cutoff of 33. Would this be Tier 2?

Edit: funnily enough, mid contest it was rumoured that cuts would be 35-36(I was panicking with my supposed "34"), and that many people had a 34-35. I was the only one with a 36 :), albeit Mr.Sharkman(who might be a 6th grade mop qual, unsure though) got a 39.

``Tiers" are based on the previous year. (If you're referring to 2025, probably yes.)

For AZ, the person with 30 [me oops] moved up 1 place in CDR, so standings were 37 31 31 31 30 31

Cutoff was still 31

FL was 42, 36, 35, and 35, (followed by 34 and 33) but someone with 33 went to nats through cdr.
So pre-cdr it was 42, 36, 35, 35, 34, 33, 32, 31, 30, 30 and post-cdr it was 42, 33, 36, 35, .... Not sure what you'd say cutoff is then.

42 guy got a perfect on amc10 so extremely orz

Mid contest it was rumored? As in, competitors were speculating between rounds? :rotfl:
