Indianapolis INTEGIRLS will be hosting a virtual math competition on April 15, 2023 from 12 PM to 5 PM EST. Join other woman-identifying and/or non-binary "STEMinists" in solving problems, socializing, playing games, winning prizes, and more! If you are interested in competing, please register here!
Important Information
Eligibility: This competition is open to all woman-identifying and non-binary students in or high school. Non-Indiana residents and international students are welcome as well!
System: There will be a middle school and high school division. In each separate division, there will be an individual round and a team round where students are randomly assigned groups, in addition to a buzzer/countdown/Kahoot round, where students are grouped together in competing in a MATHCOUNTS-style countdown round. There will be prizes for the top competitors in each division!
Problem Difficulty: Our amazing team of problem writers is working hard to ensure that there will be problems for problem-solvers of all levels! The middle school problems will range from introductory to AMC 10 level, while the high school problems will be for more advanced problem-solvers. Team round problems will cover various difficulty levels, while countdown/buzzer/Kahoot questions will be MATHCOUNTS chapter and state level.
Platform: This contest will be held virtually through Zoom. Competitors are required to have their cameras turned on at all times unless they have a reason for otherwise. Proctors and volunteers will be monitoring students at all times to prevent cheating and to create a fair environment for all students.
Prizes: Individual Winners (Top 5 in Middle School, Top 5 in High School) - 100, 75, 50, 25, and 15 dollars; Team Winners (Top 3 in Middle School, Top 3 in High School) - 25, 15, and 10 dollars per team member; Buzzer Round Winner (Overall) - Special, limited edition Desmos gift box (worth 45 dollars). We will also be raffling out gift cards to fast food joints, AwesomeMath textbooks, T-Shirts/merchandise, and MORE for all participants!
