URGENT JMO problem 1 protest (Unfairly cost me MOP)
bjump   2
N 2 minutes ago by jellybeanzzz
I was docked 4 points on jmo 1 and it cost me mop. I got 370 777 and 770 777 got into mop.
This google drive link contains my submission to USAJMO day 1
Day 1 Scans
My solution works except for 2 typos. I wrote bijective instead of non bijective at the end, and i wrote min intead of more specifically minimum over Z. After discussion with vsamc, and megarnie they agreed I should have gotten a 7 on this problem because i demostrated that I knew how to solve it. Is it possible to protest my score, and get into MOP.

Help would be greatly appreciated :surrender:

Columbia Science Honors Program Entrance Exam

Hello everyone, I am planning on applying to the Columbia Science Honor Program (SHP) in a year or two and I am trying to see what material is covered on the entrance exam so I can start revising soon. I don't have much of a concern with most of the science topics but I am not sure what kind of math will potentially appear on the test. Will it be traditional school math, SAT math, or even competition math at the AMC or AIME+ level? For anyone who has taken the exam before or has gotten into the program, can someone please elaborate? Thank you.

From their website:
Quote:
Students are expected to have a background in algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and probability, together with some knowledge of elementary science subjects. No special studying or review is needed for the examination.
Based on this description, I would not expect anything more advanced than what is typically covered in school (definitely not AMC- or AIME-level). However, I have never applied for this program so I cannot say firsthand.

Has anyone else done this program? did anyone else get accepted to this?
