Are you ready to level up with Olympiad training? Registration is open with early bird pricing available for our WOOT programs: MathWOOT (Levels 1 and 2), CodeWOOT, PhysicsWOOT, and ChemWOOT. What is WOOT? WOOT stands for Worldwide Online Olympiad Training and is a 7-month high school math Olympiad preparation and testing program that brings together many of the best students from around the world to learn Olympiad problem solving skills. Classes begin in September!

Do you have plans this summer? There are so many options to fit your schedule and goals whether attending a summer camp or taking online classes, it can be a great break from the routine of the school year. Check out our summer courses at AoPS Online, or if you want a math or language arts class that doesn’t have homework, but is an enriching summer experience, our AoPS Virtual Campus summer camps may be just the ticket! We are expanding our locations for our AoPS Academies across the country with 15 locations so far and new campuses opening in Saratoga CA, Johns Creek GA, and the Upper West Side NY. Error in Special AIME Seminar A solution
fermat_sLastAMC   1
N Today at 4:22 AM by MathPerson12321
The text in the following image (of the solution for problem #3 of the practice AIME of 4134 Special AIME Seminar A) should state that the positions of A and B are plotted on the vertical and time is plotted on the horizontal.

Where should I post these kinds of errors in the future?

Contest collection PDFs don't work when LaTeX is embedded within BBCode
Equinox8   5
N Yesterday at 11:26 PM by jlacosta
This could very well be reported before, however a quick search did not find anything.

While embedding LaTeX commands within BBCode (like this: [i]text $\dfrac{1}{2}$ text[/i]) typically displays as intended within a forum, trying to render a contest collection using these commands breaks the PDF renderer.

As outlined in this (locked) post, the forum/blog creation message is out of date. It has been over a year since that post, and it still has not changed. I don't know if this got lost somewhere in the "passing this along" chain or if it was determined to be irrelevant, but it seems like a relatively simple fix ;)

However, I didn't know you can fix it with a pair of braces. Very interesting.

i think the issue is that someone made a weird letter shape with latex and the aops caching thing thinks that they're both the same and just sends the weird letter shape image
this is just speculation on my part though

Hmmmmm only if the $1$ is single, as u can see, $1,2$ or $1,$ is fine..........

If this was the case, all of the $1\phantom{}$s would look different, not just in $1$.

Edit: Wait what? $1~$ makes the $1{}$ really small.

Iirc what's happening is that aops latex, which is rendered as an image, is getting cached, and the original cached image is messed up. If you type an equation with $1$ in it, though, the whole equation is stored as an image which has presumably never occurred before (or has and was rendered correctly), so if $1$ shows up in the equation it's displayed correctly

It is because in post 12 they said they could modify the code to do other things when the user visits the page.
