Introducing myself at AoPS, and what's your magic wand?

Hi!

I'm Andrew Sutherland. I'm the new Chief Product Officer at AoPS. As you may have read, Richard is retiring and Ben Kornell and I are working together to lead the company now. I'm leading all the software and digital stuff at AoPS. I just wanted to say hello and introduce myself! I'm really excited to be part of the special community that is AoPS.

Previously, I founded Quizlet as a 15-year-old high school student. I did Course 6 at MIT and then left to lead Quizlet full-time for a total of 14 years. I took a few years off and now I'm doing AoPS! I wrote more about all that on my blog: https://asuth.com/im-joining-aops

I have a question for all of you. If you could wave a magic wand, and change anything about AoPS, what would it be? All suggestions welcome! Thank you.

Is this just my device? Typing glitch
pearlhaas   4
N Yesterday at 5:30 PM by valisaxieamc
This started today.
When I tried to type in the AoPS homework section (as well as forums), where you put your answers into the slots, I found that I couldn’t? This might only be my device but it was delaying my work and I just thought I’d share.
I refreshed multiple times, but it only works sometimes.
Sometimes, the blinking blue bar shows but I can’t type, and other times, the blue bar doesn’t show at all.
I am able to type this forum up since this was one of the few times that my device let me type (for more, I have an iPad. Not sure what generation, but it’s a pretty recent version, I believe).
If this is a problem with my device, I apologize for wasting your time :)
Just wanted to make sure I could get this notice out if others have the same problem.

i'm a little late but hi welcome!! quizlet founder at 15 is insane omg looking forward to see improvements on aops!!!!
and thank you for fixing the apostrophe title bug yay

i think most of these have been mentioned already at some point but here are some suggestions:
dark mode
more emoji selection
easier way to attach images to posts
removal of the 10 person pm limit
better mobile format (and maybe an aops app? idk)
removal of the 8 character rule for post titles only (because an actual post with <8 characters can usually just be replaced by an upvote to reduce spam/clutter)
display names(?)
removal of post cooldowns if they are in separate threads
pm and blog upvotes which don't contribute to upvote count to prevent upvote farming
pfp size limit increase

yay thank you

edit: also like it would be nice if there could be a pop up or something that tells you where in your post the banned word is because it's always like impossible to find :(

I personally disagree, I think at that point it just really hard to get it wrong.
maybe add it as an option?
would be cool if the give up button was better than getting the problem wrong twice...

On AoPS there should be this thing where like its a mini test that has questions of a specific subject (like algebra for example) and then it would give you random questions from all subjects and at the end it would tell you which topics you would have to work on and improve.

I disagree bc it is better to try something and get it wrong than to not try at all to obtain an answer.
