Many of our AoPS Community members share their knowledge with their peers in a variety of ways, ranging from creating mock contests to creating real contests to writing handouts to hosting sessions as part of our partnership with schoolhouse.world.

To facilitate students in these efforts, we have created a new Peer-to-Peer Programs forum. With the creation of this forum, we are starting a new process for those of you who want to advertise your efforts. These advertisements and ensuing discussions have been cluttering up some of the forums that were meant for other purposes, so we’re gathering these topics in one place. This also allows students to find new peer-to-peer learning opportunities without having to poke around all the other forums.

To announce your program, or to invite others to work with you on it, here’s what to do:

1) Post a new topic in the Peer-to-Peer Programs forum. This will be the discussion thread for your program.

2) Post a single brief post in this thread that links the discussion thread of your program in the Peer-to-Peer Programs forum.

Please note that we’ll move or delete any future advertisement posts that are outside the Peer-to-Peer Programs forum, as well as any posts in this topic that are not brief announcements of new opportunities. In particular, this topic should not be used to discuss specific programs; those discussions should occur in topics in the Peer-to-Peer Programs forum.

Your post in this thread should have what you're sharing (class, session, tutoring, handout, math or coding game/other program) and a link to the thread in the Peer-to-Peer Programs forum, which should have more information (like where to find what you're sharing).

Some users don't want to learn, some other simply ignore advises.
But please follow the following guideline:


To make it short: ALWAYS USE YOUR COMMON SENSE IF POSTING!
If you don't have common sense, don't post.


More specifically:

For new threads:


a) Good, meaningful title:
The title has to say what the problem is about in best way possible.
If that title occured already, it's definitely bad. And contest names aren't good either.
That's in fact a requirement for being able to search old problems.

Examples:
Bad titles:
- "Hard"/"Medium"/"Easy" (if you find it so cool how hard/easy it is, tell it in the post and use a title that tells us the problem)
- "Number Theory" (hey guy, guess why this forum's named that way¿ and is it the only such problem on earth¿)
- "Fibonacci" (there are millions of Fibonacci problems out there, all posted and named the same...)
- "Chinese TST 2003" (does this say anything about the problem¿)
Good titles:
- "On divisors of a³+2b³+4c³-6abc"
- "Number of solutions to x²+y²=6z²"
- "Fibonacci numbers are never squares"


b) Use search function:
Before posting a "new" problem spend at least two, better five, minutes to look if this problem was posted before. If it was, don't repost it. If you have anything important to say on topic, post it in one of the older threads.
If the thread is locked cause of this, use search function.

Update (by Amir Hossein). The best way to search for two keywords in AoPS is to input
[code]+"first keyword" +"second keyword"[/code]
so that any post containing both strings "first word" and "second form".


c) Good problem statement:
Some recent really bad post was:
[quote]$lim_{n\to 1}^{+\infty}\frac{1}{n}-lnn$[/quote]
It contains no question and no answer.
If you do this, too, you are on the best way to get your thread deleted. Write everything clearly, define where your variables come from (and define the "natural" numbers if used). Additionally read your post at least twice before submitting. After you sent it, read it again and use the Edit-Button if necessary to correct errors.


For answers to already existing threads:


d) Of any interest and with content:
Don't post things that are more trivial than completely obvious. For example, if the question is to solve $x^{3}+y^{3}=z^{3}$, do not answer with "$x=y=z=0$ is a solution" only. Either you post any kind of proof or at least something unexpected (like "$x=1337, y=481, z=42$ is the smallest solution). Someone that does not see that $x=y=z=0$ is a solution of the above without your post is completely wrong here, this is an IMO-level forum.
Similar, posting "I have solved this problem" but not posting anything else is not welcome; it even looks that you just want to show off what a genius you are.

e) Well written and checked answers:
Like c) for new threads, check your solutions at least twice for mistakes. And after sending, read it again and use the Edit-Button if necessary to correct errors.



To repeat it: ALWAYS USE YOUR COMMON SENSE IF POSTING!


Everything definitely out of range of common sense will be locked or deleted (exept for new users having less than about 42 posts, they are newbies and need/get some time to learn).

The above rules will be applied from next monday (5. march of 2007).

I was docked 4 points on jmo 1 and it cost me mop. I got 370 777 and 770 777 got into mop.

My solution works except for 2 typos. I wrote bijective instead of non bijective at the end, and i wrote min intead of more specifically minimum over Z. After discussion with vsamc, and megarnie they agreed I should have gotten a 7 on this problem because i demostrated that I knew how to solve it. Is it possible to protest my score, and get into MOP.

Help would be greatly appreciated :surrender:

Hi everyone!
Do you specialize in contest math? Do you have a passion for teaching? Do you want to help leverage those college apps? Well, I have something for all of you.

I am im_space_cadet, and during the fall of last year, I opened my non-profit DeltaMathPrep which teaches students preparing for contest math the problem-solving skills they need in order to succeed at these competitions. Currently, we are very much understaffed and would greatly appreciate the help of more tutors on our platform.

Each week on Saturday and Wednesday, we meet once for each competition: Wednesday for AMC 8 and Saturday for AMC 10 and we go over a past year paper for the entire class. On both of these days, we meet at 9PM EST in the night.

This is a great opportunity for anyone who is looking to have a solid activity to add to their college resumes that requires low effort from tutors and is very flexible with regards to time.

I created a handout on Buffon's Needle, a classic problem in probability/statistics. The handout explores many interesting variations and proves some very cool generalizations of the classic problem. It contains 20+ problems with solutions.

Hi everyone! My name is Kevin Wang, and I am a rising senior. I've participated in USA math competitions for several years now, and I'd love to share all the tricks and strategies I've learned along the way. A couple of achievements:

- USAJMO Top 24 / Winner
- 4x AIME qualifier and 3x AMC DHR

I've also had a lot of experience teaching math competitions. I work as an instructor / live streamer for Daily Challenge which is run by Po-Shen Loh, and I am the founder and an instructor at F=math, and we have raised over $5000 to charity and taught over 100 students through math competition courses. I've also done AMC seminars as well.

I am confident that I can help all students effectively from AMC 8 all the way up to mid-late AIME and intro olympiad. Classes will be very open-ended (we can discuss what you want classes to look like/what you want to work on for each specific class). I will also provide homework for each class. I really want to make the sessions based on what you think would benefit you the most so this is intentionally vague, but if you are interested, let's chat about what would best fit you! :)

My hourly rate is $35, but I will donate 20% of what you pay to a charity of your choice. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns via AoPS DM! :)

I think the programs which this forum is intended for are real programs, not just internet ones that random people make up. Forming positive restrictions on the quality of content is paramount to the successful fulfillment of any crusade for the AOPS COMMUNITY, as some people have the tendency to spam low quality contests if permitted to do so.
