hm so much to say...I even wrote stuff down....hm this is what happens when you miss a whole week of blogging...
I guess I'll do this in chronological order.
Movie
So I watched Non-Stop last Sunday. It was a really good movie, just like I predicted it would be back in October. http://www.artofproblemsolving.com/blog/94100 I don't feel like giving any spoilers so...
The plot is so good; who you think is the "bad guy/girl" isn't the "bad guy/girl", and then you think he is, and then nope.
Darn I missed so many previews though. I wanted to get an ICEE and a popcorn, so I waited in, of course, the slowest line. (Note: It was not the longest) When I got there all the lines were the same length, so I just picked a random one. The first person in this random line ordered who knows what and the order took like a minute (not kidding) to prepare. The next person in line ordered chicken tenders, popcorn, and drinks. sigh* Another minute later: And finally I go up and I'm just like "Hi I'd like a large blue ICEE and a large popcorn." And I get my stuff in less than 20 seconds. But then I had to share with my brother, so I had to spend a bunch of time using my fingers to transfer some popcorn from my large bag into a plastic cup.
I went into the theater in the middle of the 22 Jump Street commercial, so there was an ok one that I didn't miss... and then I don't really remember the rest. The only other preview I can remember at the moment is the one for the Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. It was really confusing. However the little mini-billboard (idk what do you call those little poster-things for movies that they put all around the theater) was so touching...I mean with that little monkey. XP
hm ended up eating all the popcorn by myself cuz my friends all just sat there and didn't eat, while I ate handfulls and handfulls.
It turns out that ICEE doesn't mix well with popcorn, but I still ate both.
I also watched God's Not Dead on Thursday; that'll come later on in this post.

Quickly/Asian food
So after the movie, we went to a Quickly shop and my mom got everyone a bunch of Asian food. I sort-of think of it as Asian fast food. There were fried calamari rings and fried chicken (which doesn't sound Asian, but there definitely was a difference between that "Asian" fried chicken and "Kentucky" fried chicken) Surprisingly we didn't get any pearl milk tea, but I was pretty full from all that popcorn and ICEE.
Music videos there
Music videos there
hm why do these little food shops always have to be showing music videos. (I don't know about other places in the US, but) I've seen yogurtlands and other places like this. The Quickly shop we were was playing Asian pop though. hm but what was weird about it was they were singing in English too, so...and there was this guy rapping in the desert(?) with Lamborghinis and helicopters driving in circles around him. Ain't nobody got time for that.
I guess it was just like kpop, where they sing in both English and Korean. hm just thought of snsd and penguinkid88 and thkim1011.
And then there was this really "scary" (hm can't think of any better words) music video that really bothered me. I don't feel like describing it, but it was basically a Mandarin/English rap song with a rather aggressive but not-too-fast beat. The video involved people dressed up in weird costumes (weird gorilla men, funny/mime face masks, etc) The weird gorilla men were thumping and stuff and I was getting really uncomfortable watching/listening to it. (I couldn't help but think about Katy Perry's Grammy's performance) hm so Satan is extremely prevalent in the world today, but it takes more than a weak, naive human soul to perceive it.
What did I do?
I just put my hood over my head and wrapped it really tight and tried to focus on

We played Liar's poker while we ate. (Apparently it's also called Blind poker or something) It actually started earlier that day. The 5 of us (YES 5!!!!!!!) who went to the movie (and my littlest brother, so that actually makes 6) were at a ping-pong thing in the afternoon, and at the end of that two of my friends and I had started playing. It was really fun, so we all decided to play at Quickly. hm it was actually really fun the whole day, and not just because I did really well.
swim team
Hm had to do more dry land on Monday. Two words ->
So. Bad.
On Tuesday I ordered new jammers; they should be here on Monday or Tuesday.

filling balloons with hydrogen
So at chem lab on Tuesday, we were running these acid base reactions in Erlenmeyer flasks, and we would collect the
gas produced in balloons. We were reacting hydrochloric acid and acetic acid with a metal that I can't remember.
(When you react an acid with a metal, you always get hydrogen gas)
My friend had the brilliant idea to try to extract the hydrogen gas from the balloons with a syringe, and then shoot the gas at a lighted match or something, but the teacher disapproved of the idea.
However, we finally convinced the teacher to let us hold a lighter under the balloons. We went outside and did it with one balloon, and then two. The second time was much more satisfying than the first. (We coulda done three, but someone wanted to keep a balloon cuz he drew something special on that one)

SAT prep
So my mom is having this guy do SAT prep with me and my brother. We had our first session this past Tuesday. We took parts of the SAT, and stupid me only managed to get a 700 on writing because of 3 stupid mistakes. I legitly missed one problem because I had never learned that concept before, and there were two answers that seemed plausible to me, so I just picked the shorter, more concise one. The other three problems were due to the auto-correct processing system in my brain. I read a word that was being used incorrectly, but my brain corrected it without my conscious self knowing it.
800 on math, no work on paper except for one quick check. Used the calculator once to check an answer though. I feel so stupid though. The one time I used the piece of paper was on a really simple geometry problem. It was just something about the slope of a line that went through the vertex of the graph of:
I looked at it and my sub-conscious was like: Oh the vertex is obviously at (1,3), but my clumsy brain got confused and started to doubt. Even worse: I became unsure of the form of a parabola, so I completely overkilled the problem with calculus. (simply to find the vertex)

another movie on Thursday
So on Thursday we went to see God's Not Dead. I got another large ICEE there, but this time I just got a medium popcorn. And it was stupid, cuz it was the kind where everyone goes in one big line and gets everything, and then everyone goes in the same line through two registers. When I walked into the theater most of my friends were sitting in this one row, with one seat "open" in between one of my friends and some random lady. Unfortunately this "random lady" had her purse in that seat, so oh well gg. My dad was motioning for me to sit there, but I had that "uuuhhh" face on, and my friend sitting there looked at me and gave me the "uh nope.."-shake head face.
So I sat next to my friend J. and we shared the popcorn.
I plan to share a few thoughts on God's Not Dead later, because I want to go more in-depth, and that requires more time than I have right now.
tl;dr - God's Not Dead is a fairly good movie, but they shouldn't have done exactly that in trying to reach atheists.

It's Stanford Splash right now. I met a kid today who is the son of one of the professors of math at Williams. He's pretty cool.
EDIT: sorry can't find the picture right now. Try to find it tomorrow.
