I feel so bad

I don't feel like talking about much right now......even though I have a lot to talk about.
I had a surgery on Tuesday (interesting experience; I will talk about that sometime)
-unfortunately I missed the second day of class. Since it's an intense summer session, it's kind of bad to miss a day of class. However, it's not that terrible for me, because I already know all of the stuff being taught in this class.
Today was day 3 of Math 1A. We had an entrance card (sorta pop quiz). Today, as it will usually be, it was just one problem. -calculators allowed, but you must show your work or explain what you did. -notes also allowed. -time: around 5 minutes.
Problem:
![\[ \lim_{x\to 0} \dfrac{1-\cos x}{x} \]](http://latex.artofproblemsolving.com/b/f/1/bf1e7abc4a0a9a237ad15c8fe40abacd157f28fe.png)
So...I missed class yesterday, but I'm pretty sure we haven't really gone over how to solve limits algebraically, or with limit laws and w/e.
From the homework for this past week, I was pretty sure we were supposed to do this by finding values from close x values. Should be simple right? Simply plug into your calculator and make a table of values.
But. I have only my left hand. (Right hand has: metal wire, stitches, cast -> pain)
After writing down the problem and my name on the top right corner, I ripped the sheet of paper in half. sigh* that took like a minute.
I stopped to think. "Should I write down a table? ugh.....I don't think I have time.......ugh darn fracture.......do I have time?.........sigh***......no I'll have to do something......the problem is so easy with l'Hopital's......no but that's not how we're supposed to do it......ah man what should I do...?"
I looked at the problem. Obviously you couldn't just plug in. If that had been the case, I would've done just that and everything would have been so convenient.
Uh oh someone asks how much time - "1-2 minutes" uh oh "Look my way when you're done."
I decided. I would have to use l'Hopital's.
I wrote down. "

(Continuing in nasty handwriting):

All in one sloppy line I finished with:
![\[ = \sin 0 \, = 0 \]](http://latex.artofproblemsolving.com/b/b/2/bb22fde820f9df2ed89a15d7ff4c2a500fc57587.png)
Since there was still some time, I wrote in parentheses (and horrid penmanship) "

And then below that: "

I looked up and exhaled (deeply). I looked toward the teacher. She caught my gaze and smiled a little "oh how nice" kinda smile.
I may or may not have been the first one done, but my paper was one of the first she collected.
I tried to smile as she took my paper but I felt so guilty. (I still do)
I looked around; 90% of the class was still working. People were flipping through their notebooks, tapping their calculators, etc. hm the problem wasn't that hard was it?
"30 seconds.."
More people began to look up. The teacher floated around the classroom collecting more pieces of paper.
"You should be finishing up now...."
Standing at the front of the classroom she looked around the room...
"Your paper should be in my hand in 10 seconds...
10...9.....8......7......"
She counted down; a few people hurried up and gave her their papers.
Well that was our first entrance/exit card.
I still feel so bad about using l'Hopital.
