Here's how it began. . .

On 8/26/2014, this ominous announcement was made on DanielL2000's blog (later renamed, and as of 8/29/14), The Death Ball.

Just a few minutes after the initial warning, this shocking post was made on RTG's blog.

Soon, blogs all over AoPS were falling to the might of the hamsters' weapon of destruction: The Death Ball

A plethora of blogs were not prepared, like bcp123's blog, hwl0304's blog, niraekjs's blog, and Bob_Smith's blog. Even some of the larger, tougher blogs were taken by surprise, like lightbulb01's blog, pogo_5's blog, and TheCrafter's blog, notably because of significant additions to the hamster empire, such as SFGiantsFan's blog.

Over the next few days, the hamster army steamrolled its way through blogs all over the place, mounting multiple attacks when necessary, crushing any attempt at resistance. checkmatetang's blog and seanwang2001's blog joined the hamster empire, deciding it was wiser to submit than resist.

As (hamster) darkness spread over AoPS blogs, a few lights still shone. EpicSkills32's blog was one of the first to attempt defense against the invading army. Soon there was a brief battle
The same villainous Hamster Lord was also able to pummel irishfeet123's blog in much the same murderous way. In a surprising turn of events, irishatele shan123 accomplished a stunning victory over hamster forces on her planet.
About the same time, the rebel EpicSkyllwalker32 was able to put up such a fight that after a while, and a random comment by his rebel ally, flyrain solo, the hamster army retreated for a while. . . at least from that blog.

While the rebel forces (now composed, mainly, of irshatele shan123, EpicSkyllwalker32, flyrain solo) regrouped (on the moon?), the hamster empire continued to creep across the galaxy, conquering as it went.

Over time, rebel forces grew to include brave souls like C-3NeoMathKid, abean Kenobi077, and ChewBob_Smithca.
