First day on the job

I officially taught lessons for the first time today. Thanks to the schedule misunderstanding I had to do it for 3.5 hours from 3:30 to 7:00. I'm fine being in the water for that long, granted I'm doing something exciting or something I enjoy doing. These specs apply to stuff like swimming with swim team or going ham with friends.
But teaching lessons is different. Although all my students are more advanced, as I am one of the "more advanced" coaches, I still spend a good chunk of time walking around. . . so I get cold. I usually just get a bit cold, but it's still enough to make me shiver.
Also, talking for so long actually makes my throat hurt. ugh.
. . . but I guess most of this is worth it. Some of my friends (at swim team) and I are joking about how we're "trying a new strategy: we're gonna teach kids how to swim before they get on swim team . . ."
I guess this is kinda mean, but to be honest (completely), most of the swim instructors we have right now aren't actually that good at swimming. They are (very) nice people and all, but they just don't know how to swim very well. They know the basics so they're able to teach something, but much too often what they teach is incorrect or not good enough.
Partially because of this, many of the kids on swim team right now aren't very good at swimming. It doesn't take a swimmer to realize that a swim team with kids who can't swim well isn't a good thing.
Ugh well hopefully I can teach kids well. Prayer right now would be very much appreciated, as I have a huge workload.
(btw first day was not too bad. I had expected it to be painful on my knees and tiring in the sun but it wasn't a horrendous experience)
