hm so it's Wednesday now but Ima talk about Sunday (3 days ago!).
8/16/15 was ... hm idk how to describe it besides that it was a memorable night.
So I was already expecting it to be the best night ever (ok just one of the best) of the year.
At first we had the usual dinner/hang out with friends, and then a few of them had to go lifeguard the pool cuz they work as lifeguards there. Soon everyone was given permission to go jump in the pool.
Me, my freshman friend, and a tall sixth grader (hm diverse group there) decided to go play basketball with some other middle schoolers who were just shooting hoops. We ended up playing with some younger kids but that's ok. At swim team we're all family.
We were soon joined by the guy with whom I took the lifeguard class (which I did not blog about darn).
At this point most people had finished dinner and were in the pool, minus the "older kids" (mostly middle school and up).
Those of us playing basketball came up with the brilliant idea that after we got sweaty enough we jump in the pool. (ok I think it was my idea). The thing is that neither of my friends had their swimsuits, and although one lived practically next door, he didn't want to go home to get his jammers. I actually had mine in my bag but I thought it would be more fun to just yolo with everyone else. Several of the little kids were actually only in their jammers btw.
After some intense alley-ooping we were like yolo we'll just go in now. We went into the bathroom, took our shirts off, and headed out to the pool. Kids were all over the place and we, in our shorts, looked around for a convenient place to swim butterfly (dont ask why).
Our friends (high schoolers and whatnot) looked at us like lolwut. Our freshman friend's brother told him not to but we were all totally yolo at this point.
I was basically the one who had done all the convincing but my friend (not freshman) actually jumped in first and we soon followed after.
After all our traditional butterfly we went ham with all the other kids in the pool, passing around a water polo ball and playing a weird version of three flags up which involved throwing objects at the ball.
Both of my friends actually ended up getting out to dry off before it got too dark but I stayed in. Soon our coach also got in to play sharks and minnows with us.
At first I was kinda upset that my friends had gotten out and I was just with a bunch of younger kids who, although they are like family and we're all buddies, are still quite a bit younger than me.
But then my 2 friends decided to get back in! And to be honest I was quite surprised.
We ended up playing (probably) an hour (or more) of sharks and minnows. A lot of people left during the games but all 3 of us stayed till the end, in the pool.
Afterward I changed into my jammers lol.
It was great
