Well. It's over and I'm home getting used to the wonderful 30+°C weather again.
Wheee.
774/724 for 31 points / tied for 24th with two others and a borderline front-half gold medal (which counts for something, I'm no longer sure what, in the school recommendation system). I seem to consistently underestimate partial credit, but that was corrected after the dinner conversations the day after the contest ended.
Although I wasn't too far off about not getting #5 making gold unlikely: there are only 7 of 51 golds with <7 there, of which I was third. That is less than the 11 gold <7s on #4, because there are so many ways to lose points if you're not sufficiently paranoid about rigor. I am, luckily. Well, it's not like I haven't been getting highly atypical subsets of problems right for two years of selection tests.
By the way... stalking me online is now ridiculously trivial, and a thousand more times so if you can read Chinese. The media are dramatizing the daylights out of this one; I don't think it's even restricted to those in my country. If you've done enough preliminary work you don't even have to leave AoPS! (Why am I even mentioning this?)
I'm not sure what direction this blog should go in now.
