MATHCOUNTS

Darn I haven't been to a MATHCOUNTS regional competition in like four years.
Tomorrow I'm volunteering at the New Jersey North Central Chapter Competition. I'm not entirely sure what I'll be doing there yet; most likely, I'm going to be a grader of some sort. I certainly don't want to proctor, nor do I want to man the buzzers at Countdown because I'll probably invalidate half the questions by inadvertently shouting out the answers
. (Or maybe my Countdown skills have become so rusty by now that it won't be an issue, idk.)
It'll really be interesting to see what MATHCOUNTS is like from a high school perspective. I have fond memories of the Chapter competitions of the past when I was so set on performing well, from meeting soon-to-be best friends in math camps and competitions to rocketing from 10th to 3rd in the CD round during my eighth grade year.
For those of you who have Chapter competitions tomorrow, good luck. Most likely, you have an account on AoPS, in which case, congratulations! You're probably more prepared than at least 90% of the competitors there. So just sit back, take a deep breath, and relax.
