I applied to four REUs this year, but it looks like I didn't get into any of them. At the very least, I've gotten official rejection letters from two of them; however, it's been over a month since I applied to the other two, and so I assume I have been rejected from those as well.

Thus it looks like with about 90% probability that I'll be doing a really really solid (and perhaps even better) plan B: research on campus under a super awesome analysis professor! The content and logistics are pretty unknown at this point (I only talked to him two days ago), but the basic idea is that said professor has a grant to essentially scoop up Math Studies Analysis kids and put them through some summer analysis research. This means that I don't even have to write a grant proposal, which is pretty cool.

So yea, there's a good chance I'll be on campus throughout the summer! Perhaps this gives people extra motivation to make MOP I guess
