A Very Funny Calculus Problem

Evaluate \[\int_0^1\int_0^1 xy(-1)^{\lfloor 1/x-1/y\rfloor}\,dx\,dy,\] where $\lfloor x\rfloor$ denotes the floor function.

djmathman this is not technically correct just yet. Notice that it is possible to have a infinite number of 1-D curves, say $x=k$ for $0<k<1$ yet this covers the desired area and thus the sum of the curves over this region could be positive if the integrand were different. The argument actually follows cause these set of curves I believe are zero-measure (countably infinite vs. the reals).

Yea I guess; I'm not familiar enough with that terminology yet so I didn't want to use it in my sketch. Either way, the intuition is clear: there are so few points that are left that they don't contribute anything to the actual integral. (And I guess my proof could be cleaned up a bit by remarking that the integers are not dense within the reals.)
