against intelligence

i think intelligence is pointless. or at least the concept of measuring and comparing it is. like how kids in schools are separated into "gifted" classes just cuz they got a bug number on a random iq test the district gave them in 1st grade or something (and this is coming from a "gifted" kid). like okay cool a elementary schooler is smart. but no need to separate them out and pull them out of class for it and give it a name and everything. I get that the schools want to tailor education towards these kids so that they'll reach their "full potential" or whatever, but completely separating them out just puts more unnecessary stress on them. it also puts this weird pressure on them to feel like anything other than a perfect score makes them feel like they're a failure because all the adults in their life are always talking about how they have potential or like are gifted or super smart or wtv and they feel like they haven't lived up to everyone's expectations. like literally in the end all humans are just tryna live life, and a high iq or intelligence level doesn't always correlate to being happy in life (which is like the most important thing imo). after all why care so much about intelligence so much. we'll all be dead one day anyways.
