I'm really nervous lol
basically tomorrow all 8th grade instrumentalists are auditioning for the high school ensembles for next year
so I'm auditioning for viola obviously
there's like a basic orchestra and a more advanced orchestra
they play the same music but it's just a way of dividing up the groups so that they don't overcrowd spaces
anyways yeah so we hafta play 2 scales of our choice (yay) and then an excerpt that they gave us in advance
the viola audition music was märchenbilder by schumann
I'm like 99% sure I've been playing it too slow but at this point there's no more time for me to go back
imma get to my audition 15 mins early and see if I can touch it up
the piece isn't actually too difficult it's just the fingerings that are annoying
my teacher said she thinks I'll get into the advanced group
but since it's 9th-12th grade I'm at a disadvantage
if I don't get in this year hopefully I'll get in next year lol
anyways today we had chorus auditions for high school
we just did scales and sightreading and then a song
I think I got put into alto 2 if I rmb correctly
there's also like different levels of chorus at our high school
but honestly I don't care whether or not I get into the higher level one
cuz imma be taking 3 aps next year and I kinda need time for that
I'm really hoping I get into the advanced orchestra tho
rip I'm rlly nervous
