AMSP Day 4
by shiningsunnyday, Jul 24, 2016, 7:23 AM
Today I woke up at 7: 45, did the morning stuff, and headed to breakfast just on time. In Combo 3, I got murdered by posets, and I could feel the damp wave of nausea across the room as Vlad trivializes TST problem after problem using Mirsky/Delworth’s and other poset identities. I ended up nothing solving a single medium problem, and for some reason all my neighbors understood more of the lecture than I did. Anyways, I then ate lunch, and later half of my RA group played the game “What are the Odds” in my room (it’s like truth or dare but without the truth), and Andy (RA group member) was dared to go up to a cheerleader and say “hey, do you want some math (get it),” which was hilarious because he chickened out on the way to class.
Geo 3 was much more understandable than Combo 3, and we spent a lot of time on Erdos-Mordell, generalized Plotmey and the like, and I ended up not getting much in the problem session.
During dinner, we spotted Fishy (RA group camper) surrounded by like 10 girls, and our “What are the odds” RA group people hilariously pressured Andy to do the dare with a girl at the table Fishy was sitting at, and Andy agreed to do so if and only if I do it first. So I went to the girls’ table targeting the girl who sat right across from Fishy, and right before I did it the boy sitting across from the girl started talking to the girl, so I had to first attempt to coalesce into their conversation, which was apparently on inappropriate Japanese anime. While I was doing that, Andy came over, mumbled “d’ ..u wat mat” as quickly as he can and ran off, making it more awkward. Rip my life, because my disgraceful skills let down everyone.
In case you were wondering, here's what the girls table looked like (see pic).
Then about 6-7 people gathered in my neighbor’s room, and we just bounced a ball, disheartened by the fact there’s still no court for basketball. We then walked around campus to try to find a court, in vain once again, so we essentially just dribbled the ball awkwardly back.
After getting back, we hanged out in my neighbor's room, and soon we spotted a Chinese girl walking outside, and Raymond24Y stupidly called "Hey!" With a sudden small adrenaline rush, I climbed out the window to greet her in English, but my RA group people ruined the moment by making weird backdrop sounds like "Ooooh Michael" "What the heck" "Haha wow oh my god." At the same time, my friend Daniel began greeting her in Chinese. Result? I sort of got ignored and Daniel successfully nailed her. At around the same time, two girls from the second floor said "Hi" down to us on the ground floor, and upon looking up, I almost fainted. The girl on the lefttt was... the super pretty.. girl I .. was talking... about the whole time. Ohh... ooh... I murmured under my breath afterwards as my heart raced down the highway fast lane. What followed was a few cringy and awkward greetings and exchanges that I can't even bring down my fluttering fingers to type.
Then we just chilled in my room. Raymond24Y introduced me to some good videos by AOA/EXID, and my roommate made a big fuss about it (he’s Indian). I really don't get why he acted like that: what’s so weird about a 16-year-old boy getting addicted to enjoying the following video?
?
Anyways, then I attempted some geo in vain while listening to SNSD songs. Thankfully, tomorrow is the weekend and there’ll be basketball at night (heart) . Hopefully my crazy roommate will sleep in tomorrow (though he just said he wants to wake up at 6). Good night.
Also, I saw that girl I said I thought was pretty a nontrivial amount of times today, and after acquiring some additional info I’ve realized there’s a highly-nontrivial probability she is a reader of my blog, and therefore I should probably stop writing about her camp girls, as I’m sure any girl who reads what I write will think I’m a loser in both math and life. :\
Yea gtg crying.
