animals have feelings, too

we voted for a risu entry, so i decided to write something about risu today
just a tws that this post is not a happy, excited twelve-year-old flec post about risu vibing to butter or something, unfortunately
i will be addressing a worldwide issue and a misconception in a huge paragraph, again. agaiaiiiin anddd aaggaiiiin
anyways, i'll begin.
so risu really, really hates cardboard boxes. she hates being enclosed; she hates being caged; and she hates cardboard boxes. yes i said that again. but a few days ago, i made the mistake of putting risu in one anyways, partially because she was begging me to take her out of the cage and i had to do homework (i tried to pur her in my lap but she fell off the chair continuously so i couldn't).
that was a big mistake ;-;. when i tried to take risu out of the box, she was so anxious and upset that she wouldn't let me hold her -- she literally jumped out of my hand multiple times and eventually sprinted away. just to let you know how fast she is, robo hamsters can run up to ten miles per hour. maybe even faster, oops.
so she was really running. my dad was trying to grab her but my mom, on the other hand, was screaming at me so loud (she fears hamsters) that probably the neighbors heard her. i don't know how, but i think risu recognized that she was the one my mom was yelling about. so when we finally caught her, she was really upset and really sad.
i rly don't know how to describe it but her eyes were so huge and she was so scared at she was hiding under her toy truck -- something she never does. i don't have time to go in further detail, but in that moment i was able to realize that risu knew and was scarred due to my mom's hurtful words indicated towards her. and that was genuinely so heartbreaking. how animals are so mistreated with words, especially animals like risu, and how people don't even now how much it hurts them.
the rat that you call dirty and pesty is working hard every day to care for its family. the bee you cursed at for stinging you sacrificed its life to save its family. the stray cat you pushed away for being dirty was struggling to survive.
animals are just like us. they work hard, they feel sad, and most importantly, they are vulnerable to words.
be kind, always. even to those that you never expected to be kind to.
