okay my volleyball club tryouts
bruh long storytime
i tried out for my volleyball club for regionals today
they basically made us serve, play 3v3 games, and hit
and long story short i apparently did rly well so the main coach recruited me and said i was their first pick
they said that they were offering me the last spot (i was at makeup tryouts) left on the #1 national team which goes around the state PLUS utah to compete
they also offered me my preferred spot as outside hitter for games
so obv i was so excited and happy too because this was my last shot at club since i didnt make my last one (height)
plus this was a great opportunity to compete and develop my skills as a player, since nationals plays a lot of tournaments and practices a ton
*okay so why are u upset and crying flec*
*explain better bcz so far this is 100% flecs but just listen because ill explain*
okay everything was great ;; here comes the plot twist
my mom and dad both said said no to nationals and rejected the offer :/
for those who dont know volleyball, the nationals team competes more and is harder and consists of more skillful players (you improve a lot more) and go nationally to compete + regionals team only goes around the state and stuff
so nationals is way above regionals and is literally the best you can get
rejecting nationals was hard enough but my parents' reasons for not allowing me was even worse
they said i needed to prove to them that i was actually passionate and "good enough" for nationals-
they said that i was short + i probably wouldnt be top 6 on the nationals team so i'd never get to play anyways
because i didnt make my last tryouts, they considered me not skillful enough to be on the team
and i was like "ITS ABOUTDRIVE ITS ABOUT POWER WE STAY HUNGRY WE DEVOUR IMPROVEMENT"
my mom said that if i could prove to them i was good at vball in a year, they'd let me do nationals in high school. but making nationals is hard enough and i needed that improvement opportunity here and right now because regionals doesnt let you improve as much
long story short she literally went in there and rejected the offer and called me "not tall" in front of him ;w;
anyways yeah i got an opportunity (one of the best in vball i've ever gotten) and it flew out the door because my parents apparently dont think im good enough and wont understand my true passion.
i like art and all, but im not mega passionate. just pls let me do what i really want
what good is #1 pick if you dont even take the pick opportunity ToT
anyway dont go thinking this is a flex because for sports players this is actually depressing
besides i dont flex i flecs
okay bye T^T
