I'd recommend you make the YT anyway, record yourself, but have it private and only give out the info to people you know before you become more comfortable with yourself being on YT and AoPS.

I'm sure you can sing well and all but no one should ever have an obligation to reveal private information (like their voice) because they feel like they 'owe' it to their blog readers or something -- that's ridiculous.

I'd say that voice is private information because before you're just a username and it all of a sudden changes how you think of the person.
