bruh i used to go competitive swimming like thrice a week and the teacher would slam the pool noodle on the edge of the pool and start screaming and dunking kids' heads underwater if they didn't swim fast enough [aka "properly"]
but i was 8 then so ;-;
and she always yelled at me cuz i was youngest (didn't swim the best back then) and i was literally CRYING while i was swimming
but yeah the tears were mostly out of anger

i dont play sports anymore but my friend does swimming 4 hours a day

one day he came to school and was like
the coach made me swim 10km this morning (1 or 2 hours is his morning practice i think)

the word i say most while playing is "AHHHHHH" therefore im not an altlete

i have a list of when to use it: when i do a bad pass, when the other team scores, when someone fouls someone else really badly, and so on
in dire situations i use f*** or god*amn it

sports guy here(swimmer, biker seriously. runner, football casually.)
i have a swim coach
i use the words 'd*mn" and "jesus christ" alot. ive like never used the s word before in swimming.
i think my coach is religious but i dont think he takes much offense to it cause ive seen his twitter and he swears a bit on it.
ive started trying to say "bruh" more often because its not a bad word to say and i dont want to offend anyone.

bruh my dads older than 60 and his hearing is still good, but its been getting worse lately
dude dont stereotype your coach. thats really inappropriate because a coach is someone you should have respect for and look up to.

everyone lets out a curse word every now and then while playing but the habit will just get worse and worse. soon the swear words will "have no meaning" and will no longer "cut it". not a very good habit to get into, especially for young people

i used to do 3 hours a day but now i do 1.5 hours 5 days a week

i've been trying to fix it too and just not say anything at all bcz its rly embarrassing if ur in a game and u yell out a swear

and sorry if it seemed that way ;; ill edit if it is offensive ;; i'm not trying to stereotype my coach and was just surprised since he usually has a bit of trouble hearing things (not necessarily because of his age though of course). if u read the words i wrote small i said "dear coach i really respect you and i actually think ur a super good coach". and i really mean this bcz he actually cares about us, spent time giving us a speech, and said to always forgive yourself for your mistakes because others will forgive you too, etc. thanks for letting me know (:

for new athletes i recommend
just not starting at all :/
habit yourself to not saying anything at all bcz it still looks bad in public even if its just an "oh my god" or whatev

but ye ppl are cruel they wont remember when u tell a teammate/other team something kind but will hear you if u swear quietly or mess up a teeny bit

I don't say this out loud because my coach likes me and I don't wanna change his opinion of me, but my coach has said hell and stuff in his stories(don't ask why i follow him :joy) and he plays rap music that does have swear words so...?
