classes next year + predicted ap scores

whoever has taken ap physics, ap calc, and these classes should give me advice lol

ap physics 1
ap lang
ap calculus ab
lifetime sports / cartooning
spanish 2
ap world or ap human geography

i’m deciding between ap world + ap human geo
world is obviously more challenging and seems more fun, but i heard ap physics really puts you in a chokehold, so if it’s that hard idk if i could manage world lol

it’s not like ap lang and calc ab are completely free anyway, though for me personally the studying has been less challenging than physics

predicted scores:
ap physics 1: 3 or 4
ap lang: 5
ap calculus ab: 5
if ap world: 4
if ap human geography: easy 5

only life update:
turning 16 on the 12th!

ap physics 1 - a lot of problems and also khan can be helpful
ap calc ab - i just did aops book + ap prep book (for bc)

ngl if you put in a little extra effort you can just take calc bc instead i think

ive done phys 1 and bc before. ab is a complete waste of time.
bc is only 3 more topics. try to switch classes if u can, if u cant then just self studying the extra topics on khanacademy is still 100% better. remember bc has the highest 5 rate, u should be fine

for phys 1, u should be able to easily get a 5 if u master the khanacademy stuff.

bottom line khanacademy is amazing for standardized testing. less helpful for training competitive higher level stuff like amc/aime and usapho. good at teaching the basic concepts tho.

@player01 that’s what i wanted to do but our school requires calc ab before calc bc :’)
i’m the only sophomore in calc ab too, even though i know a lot of people who’d be capable smh its kinda dumb

omg ahh if you're going to take ap physics 1 then it should be FINEEE if your class covers all materials (please don't start studying for the ap like a week before...don't be like me and pull a 4 ahhh)
personally I'm going to take ap world and everyone who took it said it's ok, though maybe human geo is easier idk my school doesn't offer that sadly

yeah also what enya said, getting a 5 on calc bc is probably more useful than a 5 on ab (so maybe you can try to switch classes or self study - if you'd like)

flop just register for the bc test, sit thru the ab class if thats what they force u to do and self study the rest of bc

school cant deny u taking the bc test because if u paid for it

my school doesn't let me take ap phsyics c or human geo (it doesn't exist lmao)

im tryna take csa but im not sure if they'll actually give it to me
AP classes give like 25% gpa boost so im tryna take as many as i can

if you take the bc test you can get an ab subscore i believe (so you don't have to take both)

also my honest advice is for you to try to self learn bc. if you don't want to, maybe you should do calc c with mvc next year instead of doing calc ab then bc since it's a huge waste of time

i've done phys c and BC; five on both, taking ap lang this year and i can already tell im going to be absolutely cooked :p

since the curve for BC is so incredibly nice, honestly ive heard some ppl taking just ab and doing completely fine; my friend bsed his way through ab and still got a 4 on bc so take that as you will. besides ab subscore exists.

also ap1 is literally apc but less calculation and no calc. physics is more about comprehensive understanding over actually creatively solving the problems, so just ask "why is this" to literally everything and you'll be fine. do watch out for the rotation unit; that thing's torture.

for those of you wanting to know (which is prolly no one)

i got put into all of the classes i put above except lifetime sports (i got placed into advanced team sports instead) and ap world / ap human geography. they rejected me from ap world saying the class was too full, and i've been trying to get into it ever since???

kinda dumb they didn't give me a spot. my regular world class sucks and one girl introduced herself as "someone sober from nicotine for one week" smh get me out please
