mlk three-day vball tourney

lowkey i think this was the worst tournament i've ever participated in for a few reasons
i don't even know how to talk about all of this without sounding like an unorganized + messy + out of sorts person so let me just...
yeah
i cried throughout the entire 3 days, not in front of anyone of course and not even for ANY reason but because i got my period in the middle of the VERY first game of the VERY first day so i had it throughout the whole tourney and i get moody as hell when i'm on it
it was so funny though ngl
i would get a good dig or something and then everyone would be like "YEHAHHHHHAHAHH" and i would be blinking back tears kekw
that was interesting
oh yeah also it was 15 degrees outside (no joke, this is exact numbers) and we had to sit in a tent because it was a tiny warehouse. so we had a fireplace and we were all huddling around it and this one dude walked by and said "hey, get away from the fire. it has co2."
everyone said "what's co2"
he said "something that can make you pass out"
and me, who is in AP environmental science, who was moody as hell from having three-day cramps and some other things i'll mention later, said, "it's co, not co2"
and everyone was like "whut"
okay people. carbon MONOXIDE poisoning is what's released from indoor fires, not carbon DIOXIDE. and CO2 is CARBON DIOXIDE. how do you not know that. carbon DIOXIDE isn't what makes you pass out from indoor fires, it's carbon MONOXIDE.
and then my friend (who's lowkey kinda mean lol but we're still friends) said "[flec] you're book smart but you have absolutely no common sense. NONE." and then she looked at everyone on my team and was like "[flec] has no common sense at all." as a joke. and then i was pissed and i said "not knowing was co2 is is not having common sense you dumbahh"
anyways we don't talk about that LOL it was high key funny because we catfight all the time
i was also a bit mad because my coach had me play DS the ENTIRE tournament except the first day. i never got to hit at ALL so i was mad. i was literally having such a good hitting day and she would have me rotate out when i went to front row. i'm not even joking on the last two days when i did hit (when the set starts and i started in rotation 2 serving so i got to hit for one/two rotations depending on if we got serve or not) 4/5 of my hits were kills. and she still rotated me out.
the girl i was rotating out with was pissed too because she wanted to play defense too LOL
but the thing is our coach has the outsides play middle back defense so every time the other team hit line i would have to dive across half the court and apparently i dive incorrectly because i always bruise my left hip LOL
kkay but our libero is not only rude and mean but she is also not good at taking the right balls because she is always getting the balls deep even though she has left front (so she misses tips every single time) and then she would shank the deep balls because it's obviously not her angle so i would have to go flying AGAIN.
ik that makes no sense for people who don't play vball
but to summarize, coach didn't let me play front row (hit) even though i was doing good (lowkey it was to give others play time because we have FIVE outside hitters on our team) and our libero takes balls that's supposed to be mine and misses the ones that's supposed to be hers.
anyways it was a fun tourney ig (not really but still games can be fun)
i literally got SUPER pissed every time i got subbed out (whenever i would get to hit) and a fresh wave of anger would hit me every time i was on that sub line smh i have to prove myself again at practice this week that i hit better
i think sports people would understand the feeling you get when you're doing good and you're READY to do good and you get subbed out. literally the worst feeling ever. like an unbearable wave of fury hits me every time it happens.
uhm statistically i guess i did okay. i didn't miss a single serve until the very last day i missed 2 (one while spot serving, one just completely out of nowhere it didn't even hit the net LMHO idek what happened there)
i passed i think around a 2.5 which is pretty good.
a lot of digs.
pretty good kill percentage even though i barely hit
and a lot of bruises
and i hit my head
i was chasing after the ball and my teammates didn't even yell at me "[flec] THERE'S A WALL BE CAREFUL"
like shouldn't you do that?
where's the human decency c'mon /s
