makeup
- essentials: concealer, blush, bronzer, eyelash curling
- get a blush that is your shade. i recommend asking a worker or someone, because i don’t care if you want to have “pink cheeks” if your shade is not right for that, it will look bad. if you have wrong blush shade, you’re cooked, even if the rest of your makeup is good.
- bronzer vs contour. bronzer is like a slight tan effect, and contour is more shading wise. bronzer is for summer, contour is for winter, bronzer is for more oval faces, contour is for if you have a rounder face.
- lip oil over lip gloss
- curl lashes before mascara
perfume
- i don’t care if you think the perfume smells perfect—ask your friend or your mom or someone for their opinion. having an objectively bad perfume is negative aura and you kinda have to be considerate towards others about this because nobody wants to walk into a room and get a headache from a smell.
- bath + body works body mist for a lighter smell, but lasts shorter.
- if perfumes are too feminine, get cologne lol
- even if you don’t smell your perfume after awhile, it doesn’t mean its gone. you’re just adjusted to it so you can’t smell it. one-two sprays. body mist = respray after a few hours. perfume = depending on it, either respray once in five hours or it’s good for the whole day.
clothes
- trending pants: cargos, parachute pants, wide leg jeans, 90s jeans, cargo jeans, cargo sweats, wide-leg sweatpants, flare leggings
- trending tops: tight v-neck crops, baggy crops, baggy tshirts, cropped tank tops, tube tops, off the shoulder tops
- trending sweaters: hoodies + crewnecks are just always good, but make a change if you’d want
- trending skirts: denim skirts, cargo skirts, sometimes just wearing tennis skirts can be a cute hack
- good places to shop at for trends: garage, brandy melville, hollister, forever 21, american eagle, aerie, white fox, abercrombie + fitch, essentials (though those are expensive)
stuff to take to school
- breath mints
- floss so you don’t have stuff stuck in your teeth
- perfume / body mist
- hairbrush
- hairties (if you’re a girl)
- hand cream (if you have dry skin)
- lip oil / lip balm
hair
- leave in conditioner and hair oil after you’re done
- use hair oil depending on your hair type, but usually coconut oil is a good fit for everyone
- if you have curly hair, use a curl refiner
- hair mask (optional) but if you have really long hair that’s also thick i’d recommend it
- curl your hair once every two weeks or so for a nice change
skincare
- start with toner, then do serum and whatever else you do, and then finish with heavy cream moisturizer
- if you use a tinted sunscreen (which i really recommend) skip foundation and concealer in your makeup routine
- cleanse twice—once with an oil cleanser (if you have dry skin) and then with a foam cleanser
- DON’T do vaseline on your lashes. stick with lash serum
jewelry
- find out what type fits you—silver, gold, or rose gold. either ask someone or try them on your skin yourself
- thin rings if you have bigger hands, thick rings if you have smaller hands
- bracelets (1-3) but not too much
- necklace, but take it out when you shower so the colour doesn’t fade
- earrings! a cartilage piercing is super cute, same with multiple piercings
stuff my boyfriend said he loves for me so i’m guessing if you want rizz you can try
- ripped jeans
- messy bun
- glasses
- nice perfume that’s not too floral
- cute phone case
- not too thick makeup/no makeup
other things
- do things that are the right fit for you. others might cook in cargos, but if you don’t feel like you do, trust your gut.
- smile a lot! it really helps your mood and the way others view you, trust. as someone who loves to smile a lot, i guarantee people start being friendlier towards you and you make friends a lot easily. after awhile, it becomes more genuine, too
- take risks and make a change. change isn’t something to be afraid or uncomfortable of. you’ll never get better unless you start changing. i think this applies to every aspect of life, too
you’re welcome, good night
