continuation/2023 version of the 2022 one
favourites [not in order]
least favourite foods
however, i must state that i really need variety in my diet. i had this kid in my class for three years who ate a nutella and peanut butter sandwich for lunch every single day for the entire three years i was in his class. no joke. the only time he didn't have one was when they ran out for a week and he switched to bagels and cream cheese.
well i suppose i could have a peppermint candy and dark chocolate and caramel every day.
aside from those desserts, ig not. i am proud to announce that compared to 2022, i now can tolerate mac and cheese! i am very proud of myself for this one as i don't like having least favourite foods. my goal is to get rid of another one by 2024. preferably the natto so my grandma can finally be proud of me.
favourites [not in order]
- almond milk will always have a spot on this list, since it is my dairy milk alternative. i learned in ap environmental science that us humans are actually not supposed to drink dairy milk and that the "milk will make you grow taller" is a marketing strategy used. we can actually acquire calcium from other sources, which makes me feel a lot better about my height!
- soy yogurt/coconut yogurt/cashew yogurt. really good and actually super sweet + a healthy alternative for lactose intolerant/dairy allergic people.
- samgyeopsal/korean pork belly : if you are korean and this isn't on your list you don't deserve to call yourself korean anymore. this literally the only thing keeping me from going on a diet LOL. i've been trying to go on a diet because of my sensitive stomach for years and every time i get in the feel this food just makes me snap out of my delulu
- tteokbokki. add some mozarella cheese and fried sweet potatoes and sundae and it tops the list. getting this in the streets of korea is literally like entering a new life for a bit
- peppermint candies. i literally eat one every day after lunch. and drinking water after eating one of these is like putting an air conditioner in your mouth it is so satisfying. if you want to drink more water, guys, peppermints are your solution.
- dark chocolate. sometimes lack of sleep/overexerting myself/feeling a little under the weather can affect my appetite, and this is what i eat to keep my energy up! dark chocolate is so underrated and honestly one of the best foods. my ranking goes dark > white > milk. but if you put caramel in anything, i will eat it hahah
- as you guys expected it, caramel.
- lays salt + vinegar. it is literally so addictive and despite it dehydrating me every time i take a chip, it is the best choice. i had some yesterday with my friends while playing video games and baking brownies and going to the mall. i had to drink gallons of water afterwards but it was so worth it.
least favourite foods
- black licorice. ever since i had it, it stays on my list...
- durian. i dont care if it "tastes better than it smells" because the supposed "aroma" ruins everything even before i take a bite. and in my opinion, it tastes just as unappealing as it smells. apologies to everyone who likes it, though hahah
- cheonggukjang. every time my mom made this as a kid she would be forcing me to have at least a bite but after some time she gave up. every time she makes it i can smell it from my room and i give her the biggest side-eye ever. she makes sure to make a separate meal for me when she does make this hahah or sometimes if there isn't i will just end up making one myself because i would literally skip dinner rather than eat this. i can't believe my mom when she tells me i used to like this.
- milk by itself. idk how some of my friends drink milk like it is water. the taste is just incredibly bad for me. it isn't even "i was allergic to dairy" because i was allergic to like, say, ice cream but i still love the taste now!
- blue cheese
- natto. my grandma loves this and every time i am in korea she urges me to have some. my mom is always taking her side and is like "cmon try it" and i tear up from it LOL
