On the last night of his last day on his last weekend, Zeke found it hard to smile. He used to like going out for ice cream at night; even when it rained he went, because he was a firm believer that two cold things made everything warmer, just how two wrongs make a right. But that day, he had three wrongs.

He lay his head on the windowsill. He was tired. He was far from the days when he dived in the sand after a volleyball, that day when he won his creative writing competition and his smile was like light. Zeke used to watch cartoons on the weekends, and when he was younger he would dance along with Snoopy. Now he watched with his head on the couch armrest and a tremble shaking his body every few minutes.

The rain.

He saw the light.

After a few heartbeats, he began to dance, even after hearing the voice in head that murmured, "Zeke, you will die, but you will die."
