how to be productive

although i have no right to say this, i count motivational bursts as productivity for my own good and made this list
very funny how i'm writing this while procrastinating on the big test i have in two days
it's also a very hard test so goodbye lol i will try to take a break from aops so that i won't be distracted in the meantime. see you guys during winter break!
- gaslight yourself: "if you don't study this right now you will fail tomorrow's test"
"if you get up from this chair you will step on a bomb and die"
"if you go and get food you will not pass this test"
of course don't let it get so bad that it becomes ocd but you get what i mean
- associate completing work with a dopamine release. this can be by making notes aesthetic, organizing, or just feeling plain satisfaction when you are able to answer all of the questions on your study guide correctly.
- focus on the future. i might be happy right now if i'm procrastinating, but will i really achieve my goals?
- if you are going to go off task, go off task on something that's boring. for example when i really absolutely CANNOT focus and feel the urge to play video games instead, i log in and play natural disaster survival. it's a game that i know i will get bored of in under fifteen minutes and will force me to study again. another off-task thing could be when you're procrastinating on science homework, work on english homework instead. gets something done anyways.
- block everything. yeah.
- when you're gonna eat (cuz u have to) don't eat foods that are addictive like chips. try for something that you don't love as much (but still like to a certain extent) so that you don't focus on the food and instead on your hw. (it happens!) an apple, some unseasoned popcorn,
oranges are foods i like to stick with since i can pop them into my mouth absentmindedly and without taking attention off of my work
- study in the same room as where your parents or sibling or someone is so that you are forced to be on task since you can't be a disappointment
- think a lot, and gain control of yourself.
