MATHCOUNTS Day 0

Flying across country is no fun. I got stuck in a middle seat for one 4-hour leg because some whiny tourist was afraid of flying and just had to sit next to her husband (from what I saw, he'll be paying for that for the rest of his life, or at least the rest of his marriage), but couldn't be troubled to, you know, check in on time with Southwest. I'm usually a more graceful good Samaritan, but traveling brings out the Grouch in me.
I'm at the hotel now, and ran into 3/4 of my sentimental favorite in the competition (go home team!). I think this might be one of the strongest teams CA has sent in a long while, at least judging from what I know of some of the team members (and some of the people who didn't make it, though CA State MATHCOUNTS is a bit of a lottery because the State test often is not hard enough to distinguish among the top 10 or so). But I've learned my lesson about prognosticating against Texas, so I won't be making any predictions!
