Sometimes I like to listen to Classical or Latin ensemble music with only one speaker on, or one earphone in-- it brings out the different voices, and how the instruments are trading musical lines. This works well for duos and quartets, where you can listen to roughly half the instruments, but listening orchestral music this way sounds distorted. (Of course, this only works if the recording is done in stereo).
