MATHCOUNTS

I met with the new Executive Director of MATHCOUNTS, as well as the Deputy Director (who's also in charge of organizing the problem writing). The MATHCOUNTS organization seems to have a lot of new ambition to reach more students. They're also curious what y'all think about the tests. Post your thoughts here and I can pass them on. I hope to forge a closer relationship with them in the years to come - I think they're still the best thing going on in middle school, as they foster an exciting atmosphere of excellence.
Our Foundation is looking at investing in a pilot program to build local efforts, and we may be able to get MATHCOUNTS on board, as they're doing something loosely similar. We're also talking to them about a few other odds & ends that would be good for us both - more on those as (and if) they develop.
It was cool to see the National Office finally.
