Blog for those building a math team

by rrusczyk, Jun 17, 2006, 3:21 PM

For those of you building a Math Team or Math Club at your school, I suggest checking out SamE's blog. Lots of good material for lessons, and ideas for your team. For those looking to learn math, there's plenty of great math here, too.

In the end, much education is local. Efforts like those of SamE, furious/joml88, bubala, and the A&M Consolidated crowd (and the many others of you building teams locally) are extremely important. We at AoPS are big fans of all of you...

Hm...I second the entire post, especially the bubala part :)

To be serious, Sam E's blog is excellent. I will be using many of his ideas in my own math club. His blog is a model for how I want my own blog to look once the Pythagoreans really gets going.

I'd note that local efforts, like that of joml88, were critical in inspiring me to do what I'm attempting to do. If I do half as good a job as they did/are doing, I'll be happy.

Where does that quote come from? I love it, of course.

Indeed, SamE's blog is excellent. I have just recently started a math club at my high school (the first meeting is next week), and his blog inspired me to make one for our club. Thanks to AoPS in general for being such a valuable resource for these kinds of things.

I've been promoted to VP of the math club as a 9th grader.

Just wait till next year. I'll be president. :)
