Call for a Revolution in AI

Someone recently told me that he left AI in part because it was essentially too focused on tactics and no longer focused on strategies for tackling the large problems. This article argues that what's needed to get AI out of this intellectual cul-de-sac is a new mathematical language for the problems of AI. It's an interesting idea, and dovetails with my earlier musings about why it took so long for humanity to get from Archimedes to calculus. Presumably, if this is the case in AI, it won't take two millennia to develop this language... Maybe an AoPSer will.
