How To Vote

by rrusczyk, Nov 4, 2008, 4:40 AM

I live so far out in the sticks that I'm not in a polling precinct. So, they send me my ballot. Here's how vRusczyk and I vote: vRusczyk makes a nice dinner. We build a fire. Pour a glass of wine. And then we read all the stuff California sends us to vote. And we vote. A grand time is had by all. There would be much more voter participation if everyone could have this much fun voting.

For each proposition, there's a pro and a con presented. I'd say there's at least a 90% correlation between the amount of capitalization and the side I vote against....

I'm in the same boat, and I really like it. I got to vote in the comfort of my dorm room, with a computer at my disposal to read up on all the candidates I had never heard of. And then this morning, I got to turn in my ballot without waiting in the line--which was getting close to 100 people five minutes before the polls opened.

You're so right about the capitalization: Looking through the voter guide, of the seven propositions where it looked like one side had a lot more capitalization than the other, I voted against that side five times.

My stat teacher says that if the Redskins won their last home game, the incumbant party won the election. (This has been true for the last 16 elections with the exception of 2004).

So, Redskins lost against the Steelers last night. Anyone care to make bets on the election?
