A Significant Change to Teacher Pay

This, if it comes to pass, seems like a significant step in the right direction. (More variance in teacher pay, and an end to tenure.)

I'm not sure if this is related, but here is a link to a New York Times article about a new charter school in New York City that is planning to pay its teachers 125K:

That's one way to attract smart people.

I love to see experiments like this -- it's one of the reasons I so like charter schools.

That NY Times article is fascinating. I think it's a good idea. Teacher quality is everything.
