SD Math Team Foundation project

Sorry not much blogging recently - we've been very busy preparing for the server switch, which should happen very soon.
Earlier this week I visited the San Diego branch of the NCTM (GSDMC) to talk about our new foundation project. I didn't really know what to expect, but after 30 minutes of the meeting was spent talking about various extracurricular programs they run or sponsor, I felt I was on good ground. They were very enthusiastic about the idea of our paying middle school teachers to run math teams, and I think they'll help spread the word. They also seemed enthusiastic about bringing the MATHCOUNTS teacher training program to San Diego. Moreover, someone on the Math Leaders Network Advisory sent information to 30-40 'Math Leaders' - administrators and teachers in a number of school districts. So, I'm getting more optimistic about what I perceive as one of the hardest parts (for us) of the program: reaching teachers.
