I'm being sarcastic -- the internet is not such a good medium for that!
That said, in his movie, he had a map showing the change in rainfall worldwide over the last <some period of time>. He had yellow X's indicating regions of drought. The X's were of varying sizes depending on the severity of the drought. One of the X's that was of the largest size was basically directly over my house.

AC uses electric energy. That is created usually from oil. Oil is expensive. Therefore we shouldn't use the AC.

We live on the 11th floor of an apartment by a bay in Japan. Plenty of wind, and we have three humongous balcony windows (er, huge glass doors?)

Valentin- electricity doesn't normally come from burning oil, because that's more expensive than other sources. Coal is the most important fuel for electricity in the USA.
Up here in Seattle, it's cloudy and in the 60s. The weather lately reminds me of "June gloom", except that the clouds last all day.

It's pretty much been raining for 4 days, and should continue on and off for a few more here in MA...

One idea I find really interesting is the concept of underground or partially-underground housing. For one thing, underground houses naturally go through less extreme temperature swings than aboveground housing (and if you want more AC, you can put in a loop of pipe and push air through it). Another is that with enough earth on top the house takes essentially no land away from crop-raising. Unfortunately, people are more excited about having grandiose mansions and views of the outdoors than eco-friendly cool underground earth-houses.
(I'm also a fan of straw-bale yurts; one of my criteria for college-choosing is "will they let me build a yurt?")
