Another Article on Less Structured Education

Amusingly, I read the article by reading the first section, then jumping to the end and reading it more or less backwards. I suspect the author would approve.
I do a lot of thinking about how to embrace these principles at AoPS. I feel we do a bit -- our classes are much more about what the students do on their own than a typical school class, and involve a lot more discussion. But I don't think we've reached a fully open ideal, and am not super-confident we really can, since the surrounding culture is an important part (I think) of an effective unstructured education. That culture is harder to make immersive online.
