SDMC parents

In early spring last year, we wrote to the San Diego Math Circle mailing list that we would need help recruiting, organizing events, and raising funds or we would have to stop the Math Circle.
The results are in:

Our parents also provided the largest number of volunteers at the West Coast ARML site.
Special thanks to all the parents who pitched in, particularly the leader of the Friends of the San Diego Math Circle, Hong Dai. Without them, there would be no Math Circle.
The SDMC was the first Local Program of the Art of Problem Solving Foundation. If you have a local group and need a fund-raising vehicle, let us know.

Over 200 students registered.
We had so many interested young students and teaching volunteers among our students that we added another group for the younger students.
We consistently had 30-50 students whenever either of our younger two groups met, and 20-40 for high school group meetings. We may well have had the largest Math Circle in the US.
We fielded not only our first ARML team ever, but also our second. And only two students were older than 9th grade, so we have a great core for the future.
