Some pictures from delivery day

In the beginning: Dave checks the paperwork while I try to get this annoying metal thing off.

A little more than half-way through. Our driver has dropped off all the books; we just have to get the rest of them in the garage.

This is what 5.5 tons of geometry plus a couple tons of counting looks like: (What you can't see really well in this picture is that the back wall is stacks of more boxes of books.)

I think it finally sunk in how big the geometry book is when I realized that each box only holds 12 of them...

I am going to buy one. I have a question for you, Mr. Rucyzyk. These AoPS gift certificates I keep receiving for winning competitions: Are they hurting you? I got one at Duke, but like 5 were given out. I got one at Chapter MathCounts, and there are a LOT of Chapters. So I just wanted to know are they helping you or hurting you? I would say they hurt your profits on books. However, many more people joined the forums since you started giving out certificates. Which one is more important? Which one helps you more financially? How does AoPS make money anyway? I would appreciate it if you would answer these questions in a blog post one day. I have been losing sleep for some time now thinking about these questions. :D

The short answer is, 'We don't know.' The long answer is, 'We don't know.' Most businesses are very uncertain these days. Ours is no different. Right now, we receive most of our income from books and the school.

Don't lose sleep over us; we're doing ok. As these new books keep coming out, I think we're going to be in a good position over the next couple years to do more and more neat things. Not sure yet what they'll be - who knows what technology will look like in 3-5 years, and what interesting people we'll add to the AoPS team by then! We've come a long way in <3 years. But I think we're a lot farther from where we'll be in 3 years than we are from where we started.

It was quite fun. It wasn't as brutal as when we had 5400 Volume 1 and 3500 Volume 2 (and solutions) delivered to my house, which I had to move into my garage alone, but it was a good workout.

MCrawford didn't make it to this moving day or the last one (Dave's book), so when his book comes, we're all going to have a party while we watch him load them all into the storage space :)

LOL. What's MCrawford's book going to be on? I already own every single AoPS book ever made now, or I will as soon as Intro to Geometry arrives. I call it my nerd collection.
