Suggestion to the Environmentalists

So, you want folks in Southern California to stop driving their cars so much? Here's a suggestion: fix Amtrack.
vRusczyk and I went on vacation over the past few days. Trying to be eco-friendly, we decided to try a vacation without a car. We used a traing to get around the Santa Barbara area. All was fine getting there - the train left San Diego on time. This wasn't so impressive, since the train originated there.
We took the train 5 other times on the trip. They were 5 minutes, 25 minutes, 30 minutes, 90 minutes, and 110 minutes late. Most were nearly empty, and now we know why.
Fix public transportation, and people might actually use it.
