Now What?

by rrusczyk, Feb 11, 2007, 5:53 PM

Tomorrow we'll ship the Intro Algebra book off to the printer. We finished the text on Friday, and just have final walk-throughs on Monday before shipping off the book. Now I'm at wits end a bit - for the last several weeks I've been working 40-60 hours/week on the algebra book. I think yesterday was my first full day off since Christmas. It's weird to sit at the table at home and not have any proofreading to do. (Dave and Mathew will fix that soon by loading me up with their Intermediate work.) I'm sure I'll find something to get into, but I can't help but feel a little, well, bored now.

So, when are Intro to Algebra/the Intermediate books going to be available? I thought they were coming out in a few months.

do math books take longer than an average book that is non-math related to be written and finished?

I was wondering that earlier.

No idea. I would imagine the main point of variation is the author - some writers just take longer to write than others, no matter what they are writing about.
