More Progress

The Counting book should be in our hands by the end of this week. Hopefully we'll have our new ordering pages ready to handle it by then!

After a looong day working at home yesterday, I'm finally finished the first draft of the solutions manual for the geometry book. Now it's time for proofreading and adding the highlights to the text (most of which are already written by nsato and Ashley Reiter Ahlin, former Westinghouse winner).

I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

:coolspeak: ...but what exactly are the "highlights" you are referring to?

Things like the Big Picture pieces in the original AoPS books, as well as images and quotes for the start of each chapter.

What is the format of these books?

Are they like the AoPS books or are they more like "transcripts" of their respective classes?

Ah ok. I love it when books have all those little extra tidbits. They can distinguish between a good and great book :)

They're textbooks. We'll have an excerpt up on the site soon. Each section starts with problems, so you can try to figure out the lesson on your own. Then, the text follows with solutions to the problems, with key points highlighted. The range of problems at the end of each section and chapter is broader than in the original AoPS books (i.e. there are more easy problems and more hard ones).

Unfortunately, not before the AMC's. Hopefully before the AIME, definitely before National MATHCOUNTS.
