Trying to Reach Inner City Students

Our foundation is trying to develop a program for underserved students in New York City. It's proving a lot harder than we anticipated. We're doing a lot of research into the school system and trying to figure out what sort of program will actually reach the students. Going through the school system is extremely difficult, and going around them may well be impossible. I noted to Sandor that it's a good thing he and I didn't do any "market research" before writing the AoPS books, as it might have been too discouraging. He noted that we didn't have to since we *were* the market. With that in mind, he rightly suggested that we try to find people who are our current target audience. So, if that's you, please email me at foundation@artofproblemsolving.org, as we'll be curious to hear your thoughts on what sorts of programs might work for you and students in your situation. (To be more specific, we were originally trying to find 20 or so schools with high proportions of students on reduced lunch, etc.)
