It was a very long week at AoPS as we get the new server ready, and I'm very tired now. We've had to push back the release one week to get everything lined up right - I'm bummed that we have another week ahead, but at least expect it won't be as stressful as this one. It's another step in this big AoPS experiment.

I've been thinking about AoPS in the context of experiments recently because we've been talking about the AoPSWiki in the office as an experiment - largely because we don't really know how it will evolve. I'm a little scared of the management aspect getting huge, but I'm not worried about not knowing what the goal is. I think that's because the entire last 3+ years of AoPS have been a huge experiment in itself, and because with each passing month we seem to be progressing (however we might measure it) at a faster and faster pace. But at heart, it's still an experiment - we don't know what we'll be doing 4 years from now, and that's exciting.

It's part of why I prefer what I'm doing now over what I've done in the past. I like doing new things, and don't particularly want the certainty of knowing what I'll be doing 3-4 years from now. I want to be surprised, and I've been surprised a lot the last few years. More good surprises than bad surprises, but I've rarely been bored. I could go for a little less tired, though
